Lecturer Dr.Janejira Arsarkij Assistant Dean, Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, was invited to participate in the international exchange program, “The Belt and Road Exchange Project 2025 Spring Session: STEM Teachers in the AI Era,” held from 11–19 May 2025 at the UNESCO Teacher Education Center (TEC), Shanghai Normal University, People’s Republic of China. The program welcomed 36 participants from 24 countries around the world.
This program was co-organized by UNESCO TEC, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and Shanghai Normal University with the objective of enhancing the capacity of teachers and educational personnel in delivering STEM education integrated with artificial intelligence (AI). It provided a platform for representatives from Belt and Road countries to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
Lecturer Dr.Janejira Arsarkij participated in knowledge-sharing sessions on AI integration in education and engaged in various program activities. These included expert lectures on the application of AI in classrooms, designing learning activities using XR and LLMs, panel discussions on teacher evaluation in the AI era, and the development of digital-age teaching skills. The program also included site visits to prominent educational technology institutions such as Shanghai Edutech, the Putuo Youth Center, and schools in the Chongming District, as well as cultural excursions to key locations in Shanghai, such as Yangpu District, the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao, and the Shanghai Natural History Museum. These cultural elements contributed to a deeper understanding of China’s social and cultural context, which is fundamental to international education development.
This participation reflects the Faculty of Education’s commitment to expanding collaboration with international organizations and leading global institutions, equipping Thai educators for the rapidly changing digital world, and establishing sustainable international academic partnerships.
