The executives, faculty members, and demonstration school teachers from the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, participated in the China, Indonesia and Thailand Principal Forum: STEM Education in School at the Teacher Education Center Under the Auspices of UNESCO in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.

On November 7, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Tipparat Noparit, Dean of the Faculty of Education, led a delegation of executives and faculty members from the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, and teachers from Chiang Mai University Demonstration School, along with students from the SCiUS CMU project, to engage in academic learning and exchange. The forum aimed to promote STEM education collaboration among the three countries, enhancing the Faculty's educational capabilities and fostering academic networks between institutions. The focus was on creating effective teaching methods and deepening understanding of sustainable development issues.

Key Highlights:

  • Leadership Exchange: Assistant Professor Dr. Tipparat Noparit, Dean of the Faculty of Education, engaged in discussions with executives of the Teacher Education Center Under the Auspices of UNESCO.
  • Demonstration School Leadership: Associate Professor Dr. Somkiat Intasingh, Director of Chiang Mai University Demonstration School, and Associate Professor Dr. Kreetha Kaewkhong exchanged insights on PISA, TALIS, and Professional Development with Associate Professor Zhu Xiao Hu.
  • STEM Education Lecture: Faculty members attended a presentation by Associate Professor Zhu Xiao Hu on STEM Education in School and Case Study on Development, Obstacles, and Challenges.
  • MWIT-CMU Project Presentation: Associate Professor Dr. Suthida Chamrat, Director of the SCiUS CMU Project, and SCiUS CMU students presented and discussed the topic “STEM Education in Science Classrooms in University-Affiliated School Projects under the Supervision of Chiang Mai University (SCiUS CMU)”.
  • AI in Education: Lecturer Dr. Janejira Arsarkij, Assistant to the Dean, delivered a presentation on “AI Integration and Practice: Groundbreaking for Educators in Thailand.”

This event marked an important step in fostering international collaboration and innovation in STEM education while building academic partnerships across the three countries.
